— Activating Windows 10 —
Why activate Windows 10?
Although an unactivated copy of Windows 10 can be used for an extended period with most
core features and applications functioning normally, there are still some limitations:
-- A watermark saying "Activate Windows" may appear in the bottom-right corner of the
desktop.
-- You won’t be able to change your wallpaper, theme, or other personalization settings .
-- Occasional pop-up reminders will prompt you to activate Windows.
These limitations do not affect the system’s lifespan, security, or software functionality, but
they may impact your overall user experience.
When is it acceptable to use an unactivated version of Windows 10?
-- For students, developers, or testers who frequently reinstall the system and prefer not to
activate it each time.
-- For virtual machines, backup computers, or temporary maintenance environments.
-- For short-term use or evaluation purposes before deciding whether to activate.
If you are satisfied with your current operating system and plan to use it long-term, we
recommend activating Windows 10. Activation removes all restrictions, improves overall
system stability, and ensures access to the full range of Microsoft’s support services.
